Dreaming Of Warmer Weather

‘Tis the season – for frigid weather in the Southern USA. Even though we get maybe one month of cold, and a few weeks of icy cold, weather, it is NOT the time of year that I enjoy. Later this week, overnight temps here in Atlanta will be in the mid teens…yes, you read that right – Mid Teens!

Spring never seems to come soon enough for me.

This is a view from our front porch January 2014 – hoping for a non-repeater of this nonsense.

To brighten all of our days, here’s some scenes to share from warmer times in Italy.

Soon, very soon, we’ll go back for a warm visit. Until then, ciao!

  1. I like winter! I will be back in Italy in February and am hoping for some snow. Perhaps I will see you in spring in Lucca.

    1. I’m just glad our winter is short here in Atlanta. Hopefully, we’ll see you in the Spring. Not sure of plans yet, but will keep you updated as it gets close. Hope you had a lovely holiday, and Happy New Year!

  2. Thank you for the happy photos. My sister lives in S. Carolina & she had snow very early on and her daughters are in Georgia. This weather is the weirdest I’ve ever seen though. We had snow and sleet the other day followed by temps in the low 50’s and today we’ve got the Polar Express whooshing down on us. The wind is just shaking the windows tonight & tomorrow is supposed to be one of the coldest we’ve had all season. I’m with you though – I can handle the cold for a very limited amount of time. One month would be plenty, then we can go into perfect spring, moderate summer, and a perfect fall.

    1. That’s how it will be here – today in the mid 50’s, then Wed down to 13 degrees or so, then not back above freezing temps for 2 days, then back to the 50’s…no wonder the trees and flowers get so confused! Hang in there – that Polar Express is no fun!

  3. Italy is so gorgeous and I like your laundry picture!

    1. Thanks so much! We love Italy, too, and Hubby is really great about taking laundry photos. Always funny to see what will be hanging from those drying lines there…some folks seem to get a little too personal to be “airing their laundry” for the world to see! LOL! Happy New Year!
