Cute New Store in Lucca, Italy

While in Lucca in November, we chanced upon a new store that has to be the smallest, the cutest, most well-thought-out store ever! Tiny in size, yet huge in character, the merchandise is thoughtfully presented so as to lure you in to discover more.

Bio Bio is just ideal for browsing – and buying.

Since it was the holiday season, the decor beckoned you to browse for stocking stuffers.

As luck would have it, we were on our way to meet Debra, our blog friend from Bagna di Lucca and Beyond, for lunch at Trattoria Da Leo. So….it seemed the perfect opportunity to snag a cute little gift soap just for her.

Here’s a view from the street…see how tiny?

And this is the owner, who makes all of these adorable items. So much talent in such a small space, right?

So, if you pass by Bio Bio, be sure to stop in for a look – you won’t regret it!

  1. I love my gift from Bio Bio! It is great to see new shops in lovely Lucca.

    1. We are so glad you enjoyed it! I sent the link to the shop, and she replied to “thank” us for posting. Hope it brings her lots more business and success. These small shop owners deserve the exposure! Take care!

  2. I love finding stores like this, especially when the owner is involved and making the merchandise. I really wish we had not lost all of our small stores here in the US and still had thriving shops with personal service. One thing that I never saw in Italy was merchandise made in China. You could easily buy gifts from the country that were unique.

    1. So true that we have lost so many local, handcrafted items here in the US. Now, Chinese goods have taken over – even in Italy, you have to read the label to make sure it is actually locally produced…sad but true!

      1. well they’ve done a better job than we have – either that or they have a HUGE industry just making ‘made in Italy” labels 🙂
